Meet the Staff - Thomas A. Posnanski
Tom Posnanski has been involved with Catholic education since 1969. Tom has worked for the Diocese of Belleville since 1978 and he is currently is the Director of Education for the Diocese of Belleville, Illinois, a position he has held since 1982.
Tom began his Catholic education career as a junior high school level teacher. Tom’s professional experience includes overseeing the elementary schools and high schools in the Diocese, school board and parish council training, strategic planning/consolidation, school funding, parent involvement, parent education, enrollment management, designed coach certification programs, family education, marriage and family programs, and financial management. He has written articles for publication which include:
Tom has been working with Catholic School Management on a part-time basis providing consultative guidance to schools and dioceses specializing in institutional assessment, comprehensive development, annual giving, enrollment management, communication, marketing, and strategic management programs.
Tom has lectured for the National Catholic Educational Association, the Aquinas Institute, SPC, and NACDFLM meetings.
Tom is active in the community as a president and board member of the University Religious Council at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, AIM – Adventures in Motivation for Tomorrow’s Leaders in East St. Louis; the past President of the Gateway East Illinois Youth Soccer League; and past President of the Metro FC, Edwardsville Area Soccer Club and the YMCA Parent Organization. Tom also serves as a parish Religious Education teacher.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a Masters of Science in Education from Southern Illinois University and is a licensed marriage and family therapist. Tom has worked closely with Catholic School Management for the past fifteen years.
